Before you place bids or enter items in to one of our auction sales, please make sure you read and understand our full terms and conditions. By bidding or entering goods into our sale you are agreeing to a legally binding contract.
A summary of the Main Points for Buyers and Vendors are listed below:

Commission charges for private vendors is 15% for sales over £100, 20% for sales under £100. Fee's may be negotiable for large collections or single valuable items. Regular trade vendors may be eligible for discounts. Vendors commission is subject to VAT at 17.5% for European Union buyers only. No other fees are charged on top of commission.

Vendors auction settlement is paid 21 days after the sale provided the buyer has paid.

Unsold goods will be returned to the vendor or resold in the next auction sale depending on the vendors wishes. There are no charges for unsold items.

Buyers Premium is 15% of the hammer price (Buyers' who submit live or commission bids through our live auction provider, www.the-saleroom.com/afbrock, will be required to pay an additional 3% on top of our buyers premium to cover the fees charged by this provider). The buyers premium and live auction fee are subject to VAT at 17.5% for European Union buyers only.

All buyers must pay within 10 days of the sale.

Commissions on behalf of absentee buyers will be carried out carefully so lots are bought as cheaply as is allowed given other bids and reserves.

Buyers are responsible for postage and packing costs if shipping is required. Some lots may be described as being unsuitable for shipping and will need to be collected from our offices within 10 days.

All items are believed to be genuine unless otherwise stated. Where a lot description appears within inverted commas this should be taken to indicate that there might be an element of doubt.

If a buyer believes that an item bought in our auction sale to not be as described, or to be a forgery, then they must return it to us for inspection within 10 days if possible. A full refund, including return postage , will be paid if we agree with the buyers findings. In the event of a dispute, we are happy for a qualified third party to provide an expert opinion. Vendors agree to be bound by the decision of A F Brock & Co. Ltd in such matters.
