SELLING AT AUCTION

 

If you are considering selling your valuables or collection by auction, the process is very simple:

  • Contact us to arrange an appointment for a Free Valuation
  • We will provide estimates of their potential sale value and explain our commission fees, unsold items are not subject to commission and we make no additional charges for images or advertising
  • If you choose to use our auction service we will enter your goods into our next auction sale
  • We send you our illustrated catalogue before the sale along with your lotting advice sheet
  • Your goods are sold at auction and we send you payment 21 days later minus our commission.

We accept items for auction from members of the public or trade and from family representatives such as solicitors with authority to dispose of private collections and estates for family division purposes. BUYING AT AUCTION

 

If you want items to add to your collection or your looking for a special gift then you may find what your looking for in one of our auction sales.

Buying from our auction sales is easy.  We provide a number of ways to access our catalogues and different methods for bidding on lots.  We also offer a Postal Service so you don't need to worry about collecting your purchases.  We have listed below a summary of the auction buying process and what you need to do:

Printed Catalogues. If you are a new customer we will send you a Free Complimentary Catalogue for the next auction sale.  Regular customers pay an annual subscription fee of £20 to receive our quarterly auction catalogues.

Free On-line Catalogues.  Our online  Auction Catalogues  are available about 3 weeks prior to the sale date.  Lots are listed with a description, auction estimate and images of each lot.

Images.  Images of all lots will be available on our live internet bidding facility, The-Saleroom.com, approx. 3 weeks prior to the sale date.  Images are not currently available on our own website but if you request copies of a few images by email we will send these to you electronically.

Use our  Auction Reminders  facility if you want to receive an email telling you when our new auction catalogue is online.

Viewing Days. We provide several public viewing days at our offices in Hazel Grove.  Private viewings can be arranged if requested. Select our Auction Venue & Viewing page for more information.

Bidding. There are several methods available.

  1. Bid in Person at the auction sale.  Just turn up and provide your details at the registration desk, we will allocate a buyers tag code and give you a paddle to bid with.
  2. Telephone Bidding during the auction sale.  We have a limited facility for telephone bids so this needs to be arranged in advance with our staff.
  3. Absentee Bidding.  Use our on-line  Bidding Form  or send us bids by email, fax or post.   Alternatively,  contact us by phone and our staff will write down your bids.
  4. Live Internet Bidding. You can bid via the internet whilst the sale is taking place.  Please see our  Live Internet Bidding  page for further details and instructions.
